VINCENT LANGAARD

The title is a reference to a youtube video in which a low poly duck glitches and creates a nightmare-like atmosphere. EXE is also a type of file that can perform a task, implying that a task of some sort has been attempted executed. The painting itself displays a motley of hawks that have been digitally rendered and manipulated in various ways, from the relatively recognizable to the entirely abstract. In doing this, I wanted to visually replicate a psychological phenomenon called semantic satiation, in which a word said or read too many times loses all meaning. I used a digital aesthetic reminiscent of glitches as these errors naturally facilitate similar sensations.
